Kirsty Hulm is an artist spending her time living and working between various points of the globe. Perhaps inspired by this, her work has started to pop up in some curious places- the desert of Nevada, USA, letterboxes- even her own backside. Accomplished in Melbourne, Hulm was shown last year at the Monash Museum of Contemporary Art, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Blindside and Penthouse Mouse amongst others. Working in a variety of traditional and innovative media, including performative tattooing, letter writing and sculpture, Hulm's work traverses boundaries and speaks often most to those disconnected from the art world, through her use of personal narrative and intimate spaces of exhibition.
