An observer.
Absorbing, considering and documenting that which exists around him, Ben's work explores the relationship between the community and the environment. His poster style installations examine and reattribute these connections by presenting, on an enlarged scale, works that carry a sense of anonymity and ambiguity. In viewing the works, the audience are placed in a position to review their own perspectives and interactions.
Since leaving Australia in 2010, Ben spent time as an agricultural volunteer in several regions in rural Japan, before moving to Tokyo, where he is now based.
For Penthouse Mouse, Ben has created a piece inspired by conversations from his time living and working on a farm in the Kansai region.
