Leonard Street

Leonard St. is well known for unique, original prints and beautifully eclectic collections, and AW12 does not disappoint. Incorporating a bold colour palette of cadmium, teal, orange, duck-egg blue and emerald green to contrast the more traditional, subdued winter colours, it is a collection that can easily flow from one season to the next.

Designer, Amanda McCarthy has created a collection with clean lines and plenty of opportunity to embrace winter layering, with cropped jackets and three-quarter length skirts, alongside tonal, oversized knits. High waisted and wide leg pants, Chanel-esque boucle jackets and angled hems create a richly textured winter look. Checks are a highlight in classic Hounds tooth or bright colour options tailored to perfection with wide leg trousers and fitted jackets.

A particularly special part of the collection is a collaboration with graphic designer Melissa De Pasquale resulting in an elaborate digital Forest print depicting endangered Australian flora and fauna. Dark and intriguing in a classic, illustrative storybook style, it is a truly unique and dynamic print. This is the feature print of the season. “it was months of work, we researched endangered Australian flora and fauna, and worked to develop a print that represented these species balanced with European animals to lend the classic folklore feel. Im very happy with the results”

Leonard Street will be featured in our MIDMOUSE runway show 1. Visit our events page for more info and to purchase tickets.
